Minister Odongo's mother dies aged 115

ORBITUARY


SOROTI - The mother of the internal affairs minister, Gen. Jeje Odongo, has passed on in Soroti at the age of 115 years.
 
Alisabera Atim died at Doctors Plaza Clinic in Soroti municipality on Monday morning at around 5:00am.

Odongo, who is the Orungo County MP, confirmed that his mother died of old age because there was no specific illness according to the medics at Doctors Plaza Clinic.

The minister said the body is still in Soroti town waiting to be taken to her ancestral home in Acanipi village in Akeriau sub-county, Orungo County in Amuria district on Wednesday.

"We shall have prayers at 11:00am and the burial will follow at 2:00pm on Wednesday," Odongo said.

The deceased is survived by five children; three girls and two boys.
She has also left behind over 100 great grand and grandchildren.
