Uganda Cranes head Coach Sebastien Desabre is impressed with the performance of his team.

The national team played out a 1-1 draw against Guinea in an international friendly on Saturday.

“I like the attitude, mentality and character of the team. This game has given me chance to assess players and that allows me to make a choice,” Desabre said.

The Cranes will now take on Congo Brazzaville in another friendly match on Tuesday from which the final squad of 23 players will be selected to travel to Morocco for the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN).

CHAN is biannual event that exclusively features homebased players. Rwanda hosted the last edition in 2016 that was won by DR Congo.

The championships will be held from January 13 to February 4, and will be played in the following cities; Casablanca (Group A), Marrakech (Group B), Tangier (Group C) and Agadir (Group D).

Cranes who are placed in Group B will open their campaign against Zambia on January 14. Four days later they will play Nambia before winding up the group stages with tie against Ivory Coast on January 22.
