SC Villa's hearts were broken by the speedy Amakwa in added time to end the match at 1-1

Former Paidha Black Angels FC star striker Fred Amakwa was the hero of the day as Kirinya Jinja SS struck late to level game at 1-1 and end table leaders SC Villa's six-game winning run in a highly entertaining Azam Uganda Premier League match held at Bugembe Stadium on Saturday.

Former Kirinya Jinja SS star George Ssenkaba who was in Kirinya on loan last season opened the scoring for SC Villa after 51 minutes, but deep in injury time, SC Villa's hearts were broken by the speedy Amakwa in added time to end the match at 1-1.

''We were a little disappointed to concede first, but thanks to our resilience, we fought back at the death. We now need to regroup during mid-season because second round is a marathon,'' said Charles Ayiekho, Kirinya Jinja SS ' head coach.

''It's unfortunate that we lost concentration in the last minutes. We need to carry on, but It won't be easy because most teams are going to be tight in second round,'' said SC Villa's tactician Wasswa Bbosa after the game.
