Last November, the entire local government missed out salaries but was settled on Monday this week. However with December salaries 100 civil servants have not been paid.

At least 100 civil servants from Napak district may not have Christmas over inconsistencies in the pay system at the ministry of finance.

Information available indicates that in the month of October 129 missed salaries, an issue that was settled.

Last November, the entire local government missed out salaries but was settled on Monday this week. However with December salaries 100 civil servants have not been paid.

The Chief Administrative officer Stephen Oloya when contacted acknowledged the mishap saying in the last three months there has been inconsistencies in the salary payments.

He attributes the failure to inconsistencies in the personal identification number coding.

"We have had this problem for since October," Oloya noted adding that we have been rectifying and the civil servants are paid.

He however said salaries for last November were cleared on Monday this week.

Oloya said the salaries for December have been paid with only 100 personnel still pending.

He added that those who missed out the salaries will be paid by the end of December.

The Resident District Commissioner Nahaman Ojwe urged the relevant ministry to find means of rectifying the irregularities in the salary payment process.
