Ugandan truck driver dies enroute to Kampala

According to William Lusabya Kidima, the representative of the Ugandan business community in Mombasa, the driver’s death and subsequent road accident happened around 16:40hrs on Sunday.

There were scenes of horror after a Ugandan truck driver succumbed to a heart attack while on the wheel and died at a place called Burnt forest, Bayeti police post, some 30 km from Eldoret town in Kenya as he headed to Nakuru.
 
According to William Lusabya Kidima, the representative of the Ugandan business community in Mombasa, the driver's death and subsequent road accident happened around 16:40hrs on Sunday. The deceased driver is Godfrey Makari.
 
"The truck was from Mombasa heading to Kampala. On reaching burnt forest areas, the late started feeling unwell," Kidima said. "On reaching the location of the accident at Bayete still within Burnt forest  police station area, the driver died due to heart attack which made the truck lose control. It went off the road, hit a tree and went 50 meters inside a shamba and crushed there. The turn boy escaped unhurt," he explained,
 
Kidima noted that the Benz Actross truck bears registration number UBB790M, and Trailer UPB790M/UAD988Q. He noted that the company name on the truck is EMASA (U) Transport.
 
He revealed that the truck is being guarded in the meantime as arrangements for another driver to pick the goods and complete the journey are made.
