Thugs attack 46-year-old woman, steal sh900,000

Police in Kisoro are investigating circumstances under which a 46-year-old woman was attacked, kidnapped and later dumped near the road in Muramba sub-county in Kisoro district.

She was found naked and unconscious on Friday at around 6:00am.

Charles Okoto, the Kisoro district Police commander identified the victim as Jessica Ayinkamiye.

He said the unknown group of people who attacked Ayinkamiye also took off with her sh900,000 that she had withdrawn from a SACCO.

Ayinkamiye was rushed to St Pauls Mutolere where she was admitted by press time.

Okoto urged people to be vigilant in this festive season, and advised them to be secretive while going to withdraw money or else move in the company of trusted relatives.

Okoto said one person has been arrested to help Police in investigating the matter.
