The Uganda Medical Association has applauded government for its commitment towards increasing the salaries of public servants, including health workers.

Over the weekend, a special cabinet meeting at State House Entebbe, chaired by President Yoweri Museveni, directed the ministry of public service to fast track the salary increment of scientists and lecturers in the 2018/2019 budget and look into the salaries of other public servants in the subsequent national budgets.

The president of the medical association, Dr Ebuku Ekwalo, said although they are grateful with the government's decision, they will continue to push for their salaries to be included in the national budget.
