French investors visit Uganda

The delegation will visit companies such as Roofings Group in Namanve Industrial Area in Mukono

A French delegation comprising of investors in the oil and gas sector are expected yesterday arrived in Uganda for a two-day tour to different companies. The main reason is to identify exceptional business trade partners particularly for the oil and gas sector.

The companies represented include 3C Metal which specialises in steel fabrication, Akka Energy France (represented by Eric Werner), the business development manager Africa) and A-EMC the world's leading provider of medical and security/ assistance services and remote sites medical.

The delegation will visit companies such as Roofings Group in Namanve Industrial Area in Mukono. The group's visit comes barely following the last week's visit by UK based investors who were led by UK Prime Minister's Trade envoy Lord Dolla Popat.

Oliver Lalani, the executive director for Roofings Group, explained that the upcoming much anticipated development of the oil and gas sector in Uganda, the company reiterates its capacity in terms of standards, best practice, quality and reliability to supply the steel requirements of the sector.

"Through engagements such as these, Roofings will identify other areas of value-addition to the sector, which can in turn ensure that the multiplier effect of local content enhancement is felt and trickles down to ensure economic transformation as per vision 2040," he stated in a press release.
