Pastor David said the orphanage started in 2008 with an aim of reaching out to children who are abandoned so that they can live a decent life where they can get access to health care, education, shelter, spiritual life and food.

Watoto Home Junior School which runs from kindergarten to primary seven has a total enrollment of more than 500 pupils. Each month, the village receives an average of between four to eight babies.

Denis Lubega, the headteacher equally applauded Vision Group for the donation, noting that it will not only touch the lives of the direct beneficiaries, but even those who they will associate with in future.

"You have not only given the materials to the children here, but you have also saved a future husband, wife, teacher and a doctor from illiteracy," Lubega added.

Jovita Ajuna, the Vision Group media in education advocacy manager and Toto magazine editor, urged teachers to encourage pupils to embrace reading.

Ajuna noted that pupils who are good at reading and writing can easily understand in class and they interpret questions and comprehend them more easily.

The Vision Group team also visited Laminadera Primary School in Omoro district and Vanguard Primary in Gulu municipality and donated to them hundreds of Toto magazine copies.
