Roger Mukasa and Riazat Shan blasted a Uganda Select side to Victory against Christopher Shale in the final of the Cricket Builds Hope Tournament on Sunday in Rwanda.

A debutant at this level in Ugandan colours, youngster Riazat claimed a hat trick of wickets to skittle Christopher Shale for 115 all out in an innings where Bilal Hassun dismissed free scoring England batsman Sam Billings who had helped move the score to 109 for Chritopher Shale.

The asking run rate was pretty much an achievable one as the game progressed to the second innings before Uganda had two quick wickets fall; Zephania Arinaitwe was caught with just 7 runs on the scoreboard having opened with Mukasa.

However Mukasa's aggressive innings saw him reach 51 to take the visitors to 116 with overs to spare, winning by 6 wickets at Rwanda's new state of the art cricket stadium at Gahanga.

The final was the climaxing event of the week long series of occasions held as Rwanda launched the stadium courtesy of the Rwanda Cricket Stadium Foundation, with support from the United Kingdom.

At least eight teams participated in the T20 contest; Coutts, Eton Ramblers, Kenya, Christopher Shale, Grannies, Uganda, Yorkshire Tea and the hosts Rwanda.

The event attracted international stars like former England captain Michael Vaughan, former South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs and Billings among others.
