There was fracas on Tuesday at Kapokin PS in Kumi district when the Police ended the belated 55th independence anniversary in the district.

This was after the District Police commander, Stephen Ojok, blocked MPs Theodore Sekikubo, Sam Lyamoki and others from speaking.

He told them not to talk about age limit, saying Kumi was not their constituency. Recently, DPCs were informed not to allow MPs from other constituencies to speak at rallies organized by their colleagues.

The MPs accused the Police commanded by the RPC, Phillip Acaye and Ojok, RDC Kumi Joseph Okwakau and his deputy Eric Sakwa for blocking them from speaking during the belated celebrations.

Monicah Amoding accused the Police of siding with the NRM government. She said the plan was to intimidate her into supporting the removal of the age limit.

The RDC Kumi, Joseph Okwakau, said they could not allow people from other district to come and disrupt the function.
