Kumi Munipality MP Monicah Amonding says controversial political issues should go through the party structures for internal democracy.

AGE LIMIT | NRM CEC

Kumi Woman MP Monicah Amonding wants the National Resistance Movement's (NRM) top organ, the Central Executive Committee (CEC), to give members who are against the presidential age limit amendement a chance to be heard.

CEC is today holding a meeting at a time when the presidential age limit amendment is topical with MPs consulting their voters on the same.

Amonding said controversial political issues should go through the party structures for internal democracy.

Some NRM MP including Theodre Ssekikubo, Barnabas Tinkasimire, John Bosco Nambeshe, Sam Lyomoki (Workers), Patrick Nsamba and Felix Okot Ogong, have made it clear that they do not support the removal of the 75-year presidential age limit.

Harmornising their position on the age limit issue has become a big issue for the party and is expected to dominate today's meeting.
