With Rwanda calling for the Cricket Builds Hope Tournament, Uganda Junior Cricketers have an opportunity to impress in the T20 contest 22-29 October.

The event is part of the activations that lead up to the grand opening of the multi-billion Gahanga Cricket Stadium in Rwanda which is set to become the best in the region.  It will officially be launched on 28 october by President Paul Kagame.

On receiving the invitation, Ugandan selectors settled for a blend of seniors and juniors and from this, team captain Roger Mukasa is confident the stage is set for the latter to further market their skills.

"There are several youngsters on the team and it will be good to see what they can do at this stage having in mind that they are the future of cricket in the country. I will be able to guide them, preparing for pressure at such a magnitude" Mukasa said

Indeed the youngsters have been thought of highly with former U19 Captain Kenneth Waiswa deputizing the evergreen Roger Mukasa.

"We won't take anything for granted. To us the upcoming national stars, this is an important tour and we shall give our best" Waiswa said during the official flag off of the team Friday at the National Council of Sports, Lugogo.

Other teams in the tournament include Christopher Shale, Grannies, Yorkshire Tea, Kenya, Coutts, Eton Ramblers and the hosts. Former West Indies batsman Brian Lara and former England Captain Michael Vaughan are expected to lead all-star sides in the meet.

The Uganda select side opens her campaign against Yorkshire Tea on Sunday.
