The Azam Uganda Premier League organisers have postponed the topflight game between Mbarara City and Police by one day.

The match that was scheduled to be played on Friday this week was postponed to Saturday after Mbarara City citing that their home venue (Kakyeka stadium) will be occupied on Friday by the ongoing recruitment of soldiers by UPDF.

Pursuant to Article 15.3(f) (i), "It shall be the responsibility of the home club to hire the stadium (if applicable) for match days (TV matches inclusive) and observing any eventualities that may interrupt with the schedule matches. Any home club that fails to monitor events at the stadium and such omission causes abandonment of the match shall lose the match by forfeiture," read the communication from Uganda Premier League Secretariat granting Mbarara City their request.

Mbarara who are currently in the 12th position on the table with five points have been struggling of late. They have only won one game in their last five encounters.

Police is fourth with ten points, one below leaders Vipers.
