Despite not picking a win in their last two games, Vipers moved top of the Azam Uganda Premier League.
The Venoms on Wednesday evening could only settle for a one-all draw with Soana at St Mary's Stadium in Kitende.
A few days ago, the two time league champions lost 2-1 to Police to compound what has been a bumpy start for Vipers head coach Miguel Da Costa.
They are now joint top with Kirinya Jinja SS on 11 points but with a better goal difference.
Erisa Ssekisambu opened the scoring for Vipers before Baker Buyala levelled matters for the visitors in the second half.
In Luzira, Maroons required a stoppage time goal to snatch a point from visitors SC Villa.
Yubu Bogere gave Villa the lead in the first half before Patrick Gonahasa equalized for Maroons in stoppage time.
