ActionAid is an International Development Agency working in over 50 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. ActionAid's mission is to work with the poor and the excluded people in the world to eradicate poverty by overcoming the injustices and the inequity that cause it.

Support Uganda's Response to Gender Equality (SURGE) is a four-year Programme funded by UKAID- DFID, with the overall aim of strengthening efforts towards achieving equal access for women and men to opportunities and a life free from violence and, ultimately gender equality.

The Programme intends to achieve this through improving public awareness and progressive change in social norms away from gender inequality and gender based violence; implementation of SASA; increasing access to safe spaces/shelter, legal, health, psychosocial services and economic opportunities for Gender Based Violence (GBV) survivors in 13 districts (Gulu, Lira, Moroto, Masaka, Mbarara, Kampala, Kween, Kumi, Katakwi, Amuru, Pallisa, Nebbi and Mubende). ActionAid Uganda will manage and coordinate the Programme which is being implemented by AAU, CEDIVIP and Mifumi. Therefore, ActionAid Uganda seeks to recruit a suitably qualified, self-driven, result-oriented and competent person to fill the position of; Technical Coordinator – SURGE Program.
