Boss allegedly kills employee over sh8,000

Edward Munyaneza is said to have followed his boss to the bar to collect payment for a job done, but his boss instead hit him hard on the head, killing him instantly.

A 20-year-casual worker in Bujogoro Village, Nyamarunda in Kibaale district has allegedly been clobbered to death by his boss over sh8,000 he demanded from his boss.

Kibaale district Police commander David Otabong confirmed the incident and said the suspect is in Police custody as investigations continue.

"We have in custody John Nzabaye, who is accused of murdering his casual worker after he (worker) asked for sh8,000 as payment for work done. Once investigations are concluded, he will be charged with murder,'' Otabong said.

Bujogoro Village Chairman Emmanuel Mwebaze said the deceased, identified as  Edward Munyaneza,followed his boss to the bar to collect payment for a job done, but Nzabaye became furious and hit him hard on the head with a stick, killing him instantly.

Mwebaze said Nzabaye is a drug addict and had been a menace in the area.

Edward Asiimwe, a relative to the deceased, said he (Munyaneza) dropped out of school due to lack of school fees, and started doing his petty work in Bujogoro so as to earn a living.
