UCU into University League quarters after KIU stalemate

Uganda Christian University (UCU) today afternoon settled for a settled goalless draw with KIU to progress to the Nile Special University Football League quarterfinals.

The Mukono side joined Makerere University from Group A to make it to the last eight.

Others universities that have qualified for the next stage include; Nkumba, Kampala University, Gulu, MUBS, Uganda Martyrs and Kyambogo. Draws for the quarterfinals will be held later this week.

This year's edition of the league returned bigger and better with the number of participating teams increasing from 12 last season to 16 teams.
