Vipers Mbayi given clean bill of health

He missed league games against Bright Stars, Bul FC, SC Villa and new entrants Masavu FC

 

Congolese striker Clovis Moussa Mbayi has been passed fit to feature in Vipers' upcoming Uganda Premier League fixtures.

The forward had been sidelined with a hamstring injury for more than a month and he his return will boost Vipers' attack.

Mbayi missed league games against Bright Stars, Bul FC, SC Villa and new entrants Masavu FC.

"I am feeling fine and ready to compete and help my team," said Mbayi.

The striker also scored Vipers' only goal when they beat Katwe United 1-0 in the Independence Cup as he built fitness ahead of return to action.

Meanwhile, Halid Lwaliwa is on verge of returning to full fitness after a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.

The central defender sustained an injury to his right knee during Uganda Cranes' 3-1 win over Kitara in the regional tour.

Vipers who are currently top of the league table with 10 points from four games will next face Police away at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Saturday.
