Boxer Joseph Lubega alias Joey Vegas is optimistic his forthcoming non-title fight against Ireland's Kenny Egan will fine tune him to contest soon for a world title.

Lubega will be taking on Egan on October 20th at Big Zone in Nansana and he believes the fight will prepare him to challenge for a WBA gong.

"This is a chance to get back to where I belong. I understand it is a non-title fight but to me its business. I am going to use it as a preparation for my series of fights in France and Russia" Lubega said.

Lubega who is currently being trained by national boxing team coach Charles Semakalu at Power Flex Gym in Namungoona also believes that his home record of 13-0 will see him defeat the 2008 Olympic Games silver medallist when they face off in the light heavyweight category.

"I am confident my recent home record will help me win this fight, no one can defeat me at home" he added.

The undercard fights will include national boxing team captain Yusuf Babu taking on UPDF's John Owino.
