Gun fire and teargas on Tuesday orning rocked Pader town council as Police battled anti-age limit protesters who had blocked the roads leading to Pajule and Kalongo sub-counties.
The protesters, who had lit up tyres in the middle of the road, chanted slogans criticising the proposed move by some NRM MPs to lift the age limit in a Constitutional ammendment.
No injuries have yet been reported. The LC3 chairperson of Pader town council, Fearless Wod-Acholi Kilama, who had earlier been arrested by the Police was rescued by the angry protesters, who over powered the Police.
By 8:40am, Police were still patrolling the streets.
