Gift Ali will be the centre of attention as Police FC hosts Proline in the Azam Uganda Premier League on Friday at Mandela National stadium, Namboole in Kampala.
The midfielder will be facing his former side that nurtured him before joining Police. At Police, Ali was also joined by another teammate Dennis Makoba Bigala, from Proline.
But Police FC coach Abullah Mubiru feels that a victory would give his side confidence in their next games.
"We want to improve on our striking force, since we failed to convert a lot of scoring chances against SC Villa last week. We are playing Proline, who have players who are good with the ball, so we need to be cautious. We are at home so we need these points," Mubiru said.
Despite losing several players, Proline have beefed up their squad with new signings such as defender Ivan Bukenya , wingers Sula Malouda Matovu and Joseph Ssemujju on loan from Vipers. But the trio are still waiting for clearance from FUFA to feature in tomorrow's game.
Proline also welcomes back Savio Kabugo, who had gone for trials with South Africa's Bloemfontein Celtic.
"It is going to be a tough game, since Police are well motivated. But we are ready. We are hopeful that FUFA clears our players in time for our game, since we are counting on them," Proline coach Mujib Kasule, said.
Meanwhile, the league will resume on Saturday with three games.
