Have MPs been blocked from accessing Parliament?

DPC Kampala Frank Mwesigwa, says all MPs will be allowed access to Parliament, dispelling allegations that Mubaraka Munyagwa (Kawempe North) and Kasibante are under house arrest.

 

Centenary Robert (Kasese municipality), Theodore Ssekikubo (Lwemiyaga County) and Kasibante Moses (Rubaga North) had earlier been blocked by the Police officers deployed at Parliament from accessing the premises.

However, the DPC Kampala Frank Mwesigwa, says all MPs will be allowed access to Parliament, dispelling allegations that Mubaraka Munyagwa (Kawempe North) and Kasibante are under house arrest.

The leader of opposition in Parliament Winfred Kiiza expressed discontent over the manner in which some MPs are being treated.

She says it's unfair and uncalled for, for security agencies to block MPs from entering Parliament to do their work According to the DPC Kampala Mwesigwa, the Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, and some KCCA councillors have been arrested because the Police have information that they were planning on causing chaos in the city centre.

He also said some people have been arrested alongside them to stop their planned procession to Parliament.
