Masavu docked three points over player registration fiasco

Newly promoted Masavu FC have been docked three points and three goals for the abandoned match against Police on Tuesday in Entebbe.

The match was called off after Masavu failed to produce licenses for its players.

FUFA Competitions Committee on Wednesday ruled against Masavu with an accompanying fine of sh1m came out with final verdict about the matter.

"Masavu FC has therefore lost the match by forfeiture (3 points and 3 goals) to opposing club (Police FC) and fined one million Uganda shillings (1,000,000UGX) as per provision 26.4 (iii) of the above mentioned rules" the communication read in part.

Masavu have however been given up to September 14th to register its players or face further sanctions.

"We shall not hesitate to submit the matter to FUFA competent bodies for further action should you fail to adhere to above timeline," read the communication signed by FUFA competitions director Ali Mwebe.
