Chandiru in action

Gertrude Chandiru is enjoying the form of her life in the ongoing ICC Africa Women's World Cup Qualifiers in Namibia.

Chandiru made headlines with her outstanding performance as the Lady Cricket Cranes went cruising past old rivals Kenya by six wickets with 26 balls to spare Sunday at the Wanderers oval.

Chandiru posted double figures as Kevin Awino team made it three in three in the T20 showpiece, where the winner will progress to the global and final qualifying event ahead of next year's world cup in West Indies.

Needing 59 from 20 overs, after Kenya had posted 58 courtesy of Abel Queentor's 24 from 23 balls, Saidat Kemigisha struck 25 from 42 balls before Chandiru's 11 not out from 22 balls.

Chandiru's performance against Kenya came at the background of a four-wicket haul in Uganda's seven wickets win against Tanzania.

Uganda is leading the table on six points, two above Zimbabwe who have played a game less. The Lady Cricket Cranes are back in the fold on Wednesday against Zimbabwe, in their final round robin fixture. Leaders on the log play a winner between second and third in the final.
