The Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura, has ordered for the creation of a new police command in murder-stricken Katabi Town Council, independent of Entebbe Police Station.

The decision was made during a meeting between officials from Uganda police, Operation Wealth Creation and residents of Katabi town council on Thursday evening, at Kasenyi landing site.

According to Kayihura, some of the key suspects in the recent murders are young, jobless men and women, who were enticed into committing crime after being promised money.

Residents complained on the manner in which Police officers are carrying out arrests at the landing site. They said people without National IDs are being bundled onto police patrol trucks and taken to Entebbe Police Station, even during the day.
