None of the government officials has again spoken about the controversy surrounding the land

Government has come under sharp criticism for failing to resolve the land conflict between the community of Angisa and Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).

The parish councillor Angisa in Magoro Sub County, Katakwi district Hassan Okwi faulted government for delaying to resolve the matter.

Campaigning for NRM flag bearer Joseph Andrew Koluo at Magoro Primary School playground during Toroma County by-elections, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni pledged to find out where the boundary between the two conflicting parties is.

According to Museveni, it was in order for the community of Angisa to repossess their ancestral land since there is prevailing peace in the country.

“I have not been following this issue critically but since you have raised it here I am going to follow it up with Uganda Wildlife Authority” stated Museveni.

However, Hassan Okwi claims that none of the government officials has again spoken about the controversy surrounding the land.

Okwi appealed to government to expedite the process of resolving the controversy surrounding Angisa land.

Toroma County MP Andrew Joseph Koluo reiterated that he will follow up this issue with the Office of the President.

“Among other issues I am going to tell the President when we the NRM MPs in Teso meet the President next month is Angisa land”, Koluo said.

He asked the community of Angisa to stay calm saying that the matter shall be addressed.
