MPs asked to support clubs in their constituencies

Holiday makers were urged to get into local football clubs to avoid indulging in criminal acts

 

Patrick Isiagi Opolot the Member of Parliament for Kachumbala County in Bukedea district has challenged MPs to support local teams in their constituencies.

Isiagi who led a team of soccer lovers from Kachumbala to Opwateta Primary School in Pallisa district said young people need support in exposing their hidden talents.

"I was once a soccer player and currently I support a number of football clubs in my constituency and I meet the fees of all good football players at Amus College Kachumbala", Isiagi said.

MP Richard Oseku promised to give support to Pallisa United FC which played a friendly match with Amus College.

Oseku said holiday makers should get into local football clubs to avoid indulging in criminal acts.

"Once clubs are organized there will be need to support in either balls, uniform or funds for transport", Oseku said.

Dr. John Richard Otukei the team manager of Pallisa United said football clubs need support even from the community.

"If a supporter gives in even 2kgs of maize and I encourage football fans to at least sacrifice even sh5,000 per month because these young men also have needs to meet", Otukei said.

Pallisa United won 1-0 after Yasin Mukiibi fouled Dan Odeke inside the penalty area. Robert Okou scored from the spot after sending goalie Solomon Okello the wrong way.
