Residents of Kitara zone, Katabi Town Council in Wakiso district, again woke up to the shocking news of another woman's dead body on Sunday morning.

She was found naked and dumped in a bush behind rental houses along Kampala-Entebbe Highway.

The body, whose identity is yet to be revealed, was found by a resident who later alerted Police.

According to the area LC1 chairperson Lamech Kasujja, the woman could not visibly be identified as a resident of the area.

However, most residents were heard complaining about Police's refusal for them to have a glance at the body in order to identify the victim.

"Police came very fast and cordoned off the scene without allowing any of us to look at the body and afterwards, they rushed her away to Mulago," complained a one Mukasa.

Siraj Bakaleke the Kampala Metropolitan South Police commander said the woman was believed to be a mental patient.

"Her hair looked to have been soiled for a long time, as person who has not been taking care of herself," said Bakaleke.

He added that the crime scene wasn't similar to those of other ladies who have been killed in previous weeks.

However, most residents disputed Bakaleke's observations by questioning the blood which was found at the scene.

Residents were also compelled to go look for a woman in the area known to suffer from mental illness. She was found at her usual spot, raising more doubt.

According to Bakaleke, the body was taken to Mulago Hospital for a post-mortem as further investigations are carried out.
