Judge Ojok involved in car accident

The driver reportedly lost control after a tyre burst at around 6am

Fort Portal High Court resident judge, Anthony Oyuko Ojok was on Monday morning involved in a road accident near Mubende town.

According to judiciary spokesperson, Vincent Mugabo, Ojok was traveling back to his station in his official vehicle to among other things, attend a Justice, Law and Order Sector open day at Boma Grounds in Fort Portal presided over by Chief Justice Bart Katureebe.

The judge's driver reportedly lost control after a tyre burst at around 6am, causing the vehicle to roll several times.

Ojok together with his driver and Police bodyguard sustained minor injuries.

Joint emergency services co-ordinated by both the Judiciary and Police evacuated the judge and crew from the accident scene to True Vine Hospital in Mubende for first aid.

They were later transferred to Mulago Hospital in Kampala, where they were examined and declared stable and out of danger.

The trio has since been discharged from hospital and will be monitored from their homes.
