Lira Municipal Development Forum elects new executive

Lira Municipal Development Forum as elected new executive committee to help in the coordination between the council and the stakeholders on urban development.

Among the development programs that the committee is mandated to monitor is the implementation of Uganda Support Municipal Infrastructural Development (USMID) program.

The new executive members for the next two years are Fred Omara the president, Patrick Ogwang as vice president, Bonny Okello Allele as secretary, Akullu Irene as treasurer and Bismarck Olang as publicity secretary among others.

Speaking ahead of the election Mike Ogwang Olwa Veve, the Lira Municipality Mayor, advised the executive of the forum not to think of payment because it is purely voluntary work.

Veve also explained that the responsibility of the council is to sensitize the community about development activities in the municipality and should be committed to their work under minimum supervision.
