The Vicar General of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala, the Rt Rev Msgr Charles Kasibante has asked parliamentarians to be sincere and fair when passing laws.

"No member of Parliament should place his or her personal interests above the common good of the people.  Any law should have as its aim the promotion of the well-being of the citizens. Laws that are repressive and unjust will only lead to public discontent and insecurity," Kasibante said.

Kasibante later cautioned Christians against greed for money and power, which he said, had aggravated the vices of corruption, political violence and sorcery. He asked the Christians to remain committed to the Christian values of honesty, hope and faith, even in times of great trials and temptations.
