Kabafunzaki takes fresh plea on corruption charges

COURT | CORRUPTION
KAMPALA - Suspended state minister for labour, employment and industrial relations, Herbert Kabafunzaki pleaded not guilty to charges of soliciting a sh15m gratification.
This was on Tuesday when his trial kicked off at the Anti-Corruption Court in Kampala.
The charges were read out to Kabafunzaki together with his two aides by the Anti-Corruption Court judge Margaret Tibulya.
The minister's aides are Brian Mugabo and a one Bruce Lubowa.
Before the charges were read out, the judge appointed three assessors who will help court to scrutinize evidence during the trial.
The judge has set August 10, as the date when the hearing of the case is slated to start.
