Meeting the managers of three radio stations namely Rock Mambo radio, Veros radio and East FM, the Bukedi regional police commander Julius Gobolo warned that any presenter who makes statement intended to incite the public will be arrested for his/her personal utterances.

Security officials in Tororo have warned the media houses operating in the district to desist from inciting the public over the conflict between the Iteso and Japadhola regarding the division of the district.

Meeting the managers of three radio stations namely Rock Mambo radio, Veros radio and East FM, the Bukedi regional police commander Julius Gobolo warned that any presenter who makes statement intended to incite the public will be arrested  for his/her personal utterances.

‘'We are not going to close the radio station but we shall hold an individual personally for their own utterances'' Gobolo who was flanked by the district police commander David Katunda Nyesigire warned.

He said since the matter is before president Museveni, it was needless for people to continue discussing and causing unnecessary animosity amongst the people.

Nyesigire said they had got express orders to arrest and prosecute whoever is found inciting the people irrespective of their status.

The warning follows discussion on some of the radio stations where some panelists were using local dialect to incite the public.

While meeting the leaders from the two warring parties at state house Entebbe, president Museveni asked for two week to allow him to consult with National Resistance Movement [NRM] Party caucus and the cabinet over the matter.

This was after the lands ministry surveyors cleared the location of Tororo town which belongs to Tororo county as per 1956 colonial boundary maps.
