The National Organising Committee for the 3rd East African Arts and Culture Festival (JAMAFEST) hosted by Government of Uganda invites abstracts for papers to be presented at the East Africa Community Arts and Culture Symposium due 8th, 11th & 12th September 2017 at Hotel Africana, Kampala.

The Symposium is a key activity of JAMAFEST to be held in Kampala under the theme, "Culture and the Creative Industry: The Engine for Unity and Employment Creation" The Symposium provides practitioners, policy makers, leaders, academics, managers, media, civil society and others the platform for dialogue on key issues impacting the development of arts and culture in the region.

The arts and culture sector are growing in importance in terms of their contribution to national GDP, employment and wealth creation. However there still exist bottlenecks to their exploitation for the full benefit of the EAC economies. Abstracts for papers to be presented at the symposium are invited from nationals of EAC countries as per the sub-themes below;
