NAIROBI - Sixteen-year-old Ugandan athletic Oscar Chelimo says is targeting gold in the 3000m final come Sunday.
He said this moments after qualifying for the final with a good time of 8:08.09 in heat one on Thursday in Nairobi.
He said he was happy with his performance.
"I think I had a good race and will be aiming for gold in the final on Sunday," he said shortly after his race.
His compatriot Titus Given Kwemoi has equally promised a better race in the same final. the 17-year-old also progressed after finishing fourth in heat two with a time of 8:37.67.
“Expect a good race from me in the final,” said Kwemoi.
