Saints FC changes name to UPDF FC

Two seasons ago UPDF owned a club called Simba

FUFA has cleared The Saints Football Club to change its name to Uganda People's Defence Forces Football Club (UPDF FC).  

This was confirmed in a communication sent by FUFA CEO Edgar Watson that was addressed to The Saints FC CEO, Isaac Jurugo.

"Following your club's official request and related letters on the matter submitted seeking to change the current club name ‘The Saints FC' to ‘UPDF FC'. The 14th FUFA Executive Committee meeting after verification of grounds for the request and related regulations has granted your club permission to change the name to ‘UPDF FC', part of the communication reads.

"You are therefore requested to link up with the FUFA Secretariat to submit documents that will enable your club to register for Competitions and update its FUFA Membership under the new name" it adds.

Two seasons ago UPDF owned a club called Simba and when it was relegated after the 2015/16 season, UPDF decided to buy Saints that was still in the topflight ,
