On behalf of the Parliamentary Commission, the Speaker extends her most sincere condolences to Hon. Grace Hailat’s family

Speaker of parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has expressed her sorrow at the demise of Iganga Woman MP, Grace Hailat Kaudha who succumbed to severe preeclampsia at Mulago national referral hospital yesterday.

Preeclampsia is a condition during pregnancy where there is a sudden rise in blood pressure and swelling, mostly in the face, hands and feet. It is said to be the most common complication during pregnancy and labor.

"On behalf of the Parliamentary Commission, the Speaker extends her most sincere condolences to Hon. Grace Hailat's family, the parliamentary community, her constituents, relatives and friends," Kadaga said in a communication earlier today.

At 30 years, Kaudha was one of the rising stars in Busoga's politics and one the many young people that had made it to the 10th parliament.

She will be buried tomorrow in Iganga.
