1. The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has received financing from the French Development Agency (AFD), Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), European Union Africa Infrastructure Trust Fund (EUAITF), European Investment Bank (EIB), and the Government of Uganda (GoU), and intends to use part of the funds thereof for payments for Consulting services for the preparation of Detailed Design, Tendering and Works Supervision for the Rehabilitation, Restructuring and the Extension of Kampala Water Supply Network.

2. The Scope of Services of the Consultant will consist of the following, but not restricted to:

a) Detailed Engineering Designs for the water supply network (~ 287 km of new mains and 26 km of replacements, all of sizes OD110 uPVC to DN1400 DI)

b) Preparation of Tender Documents - FIDIC (Redbook) - and Engineering cost estimates

c) Undertaking Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA)

d) Undertaking a comprehensive Resettlement Action Plan (RAP)/Valuation and implementation of the RAP

e) Undertaking comprehensive Geotechnical Investigations for purposes of elaborating the tender documents

f) Land valuation of the sites for the proposed installations (reservoirs, booster stations, pipelines, etc.), and wayleaves/easements for the pipeline routes

g) Supporting NWSC in the land acquisition process for the proposed sites and wayleaves until the land is registered in the names of NWSC

h) Carrying out a complete risk analysis of the project and proposing mitigation measures

i) Preparing of a proposal on the packaging/lotting of the works

j) Preparation of confi dential Engineering cost estimates

k) Supporting NWSC in Procurement of a works Contractor (i.e. entire process from prequalifi cation to works contract signature)

l) Construction Supervision of the associated works (including the packages/ lots)

m) Superintendence over the Defects Notifi cation Period
