FUFA media chief Ahmed Hussein has tipped journalists on how to be successful in their careers in the current market.

Hussein urged journalists to be multi-taskers in their day-to-day business.

"As a journalist you must now know how to commentate, write scripts, take photographs and record videos," he told the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) monthly meeting in Kampala.

He also urged journalists to read and get to understand the process of accreditation because it is important.

USPA recognition

Meanwhile, national team boxer Muzamir Kakande, athlete Robert Chemonges and bodybuilder Andrew Ssenoga will this (Wednesday) evening be crowned USPA Nile Special sports personality of April, May and June respectively during a dinner at Imperial Royale Hotel.

Kakande (welterweight) won gold at the Africa Boxing Championships in Congo Brazzaville. He was unanimously voted by USPA members during their monthly assembly.

He knocked out Algeria's Younes Nemouchi in the second round to end Uganda's 13-year wait for a gold medal at continental championships.

Robert Chemonges, 19, won the Dusseldorf Marathon in April, qualifying for the IAAF World championship.

Andrew Ssenoga was voted May's best sports personality for winning the Germany International Natural Bodybuilding Championship.

EUSPA awards for Thursday

Meanwhile, the Eastern Uganda Sports Press Association (EUSPA) will on Thursday crown their 2016 best athletes of the year at Freedom Club Nkoma in Mbale.

Godfrey Kakungulu, the association president, confirmed the development. "We  are holding our annual gala to award the best of the region on Thursday and I think it will be successful."

The nominees for the top award include table tennis player Halima Nambozo, netball player Phiona Namataka and Mwiri Athletes Academy in Budaka.
