Kenya Open: Aguma sails into 2nd round

Uganda has four players taking part in the one week event

Keru (KE) bt D Bakunzi (UG) 6-4 2-6 2-6

Uganda's Boris Aguma got off to a flyer in the ongoing Britam Kenya Open Tennis Championship at Nairobi Club to progess to the second round of the event.  

The 17-year-old beat Kenyan Ryan Ateto 6-4 6-2 in the first round while his counterpart Derrick Bakunzi lost to Kenyan Zachariach 6-4 2-6 2-6.

Aguma, Bakunzi, Duncan Mugabe and David Oringa are the only Ugandans that are taking part in the one week event that will climax this weekend.

Mugabe remains the only Ugandan to have won the annual championship has attracted over 100 players in both the men and women categories.

Kenya's Ismail Changawa and his sibling Shufaa Changawa are the defending champions in the men's and women's singles categories.
