Uganda's next generation of senior national cricketers the U19s are out to leave a mark on the face of national cricket when they begin their formidable journey towards next year's World Cup in New Zealand.

There is only way to the World Cup for Kenneth Waiswa and Co and that is winning the Africa Division One U19 World Cup qualifiers starting July 1-8 in Kenya.

The trip to Kenya is embraced with positive vibes but then with cautious minds as Uganda seeks to make a third appearance at the Worlds.

"The confidence is high on. The boys have learned playing comfortably and we hope to come back victorious," said Jackson Ogwang, the assistant coach for the team during the official flag of the team Monday at Lugogo.

Uganda's opener Zephania Arinaitwe will once again prove himself as one of the mainstay in Ugandan cricket. He admits that he will have to be very cautious in his play as sometime he unnecessarily goes hard on bowlers.

"I have to play with composure and avoid silly dismissals and give the team the necessary foundation," Arinaitwe said.

The team left early as a couple of more build up games against the Kenya U23 are lined up as Franco Othieno awaits his biggest assignment thus far having become the U19 coach.

It is important to note that Uganda has only been at two world cups in 2004 (Singapore) and 2006 (Singapore) . It opens her campaign against Botswana on 1st July at Jaffrey grounds in the four team contest that also has Ghana and hosts Kenya.
