She Cranes captain Peace Proscovia is confident that Uganda will win the Africa Netball Championship at Lugogo.

The towering shooter currently playing professional netball at Loughborough Lightning, arrived on Sunday and immediately joined the rest of the squad on Monday.

"The spirits are high among the players," said Proscovia after training at Lugogo.

Proscovia won the best shooters award at the England Netball Superleague this season with a tally of 812 goals in 18 matches and was voted Most Valuable Player (MVP).

She is ready to share her aiming skills with other shooters Rachael Nanyonga, Stella Oyella, Hadijah Nakabuye and Martha Soigi.

"All the shooters are good but they just need to keep practicing in these remaining days in a bid to perfect their aiming skills," she said.

Malawi arrived in the country on Sunday.

Malawi is ranked 6th in the world and second in Africa behind South Africa, who will not be taking part at the championship.

"We have not played any international matches ever since we started training and it's only after the game against Malawi that I will be able to tell where to make Other nations expected at the long awaited event include Zambia ranked 15th in the world, Zimbabwe (16th), Botswana (18th) and Namibia.
