We do not have enough money but we welcome anybody who can join us to touch the lives of these children

Women of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Mityana district have launched a project to look after the needy children by offering them school requirements.

While attending prayers on Saturday at Busimbi SDA church located at Kiyudaaya village in Mityana Municipality, the women launched the project and handed over items to some of the needy children.

Cissy Mulondo, the head of the proggramme said that the children will be studying at Busimbi SDA P/S, a church founded school located on the church premises.

Together with the district pastors, they handed over the first consignment of items which included blankets, pens, books and school fees.

Mulondo said they had realized that many children needed support which they never had.

"We do not have enough money but we welcome anybody who can join us to touch the lives of these children," she appealed.

The activities in the prayers on Saturday were led by the church women.

Pastor Daniel Ssenuuni, of Busimbi DSDA commended the women for their efforts to support the needy children.

In the same service, about ten people were passed out, after being trained in various church activities, in the programme called ZUULA.

In this project, trained Christians closely follow others in communities and help them to live a religious life.
