Cranes embark on preps for AFCON 2019 qualifiers

Cranes face Cape Verde in the first qualifier

The Uganda Cranes have kicked off preparations for the 2019 AFCON Qualifiers conducting their first bit of residential training at Kabira Country Club after entered camp at Sky Hotel, Naalya.

The national team regrouping comes a day after returning from Fort Portal where they defeated a Kitara region select side 3-1 at the Buhinga Stadium on Sunday with strikers Emmanuel Okwi and Nelson Senkatuka on target for Cranes.

The Cranes will continue with a double training session (morning and afternoon) on Wednesday before flying to Addis Ababa on Thursday ahead of a friendly match with Ethiopia on Saturday at the Hawassa International Stadium.

The team will then head to Dakar on Sunday for another friendly with Senegal to be played next Tuesday.

It is from there that they'll head to Cape Verde for Group L's opening match on June 10th.

Vipers' defender Halid Lwaliwa and Austrian based striker Edirisa Lubega (Floridsdorfer ) and goalkeeper Robert Odongkara have been left out of the squad due to injuries.
