Africa Fundraiser and Programme Design Coordinator based in Uganda or Kenya

Saferworld is an independent non-governmental organisation that works to prevent violent confl ict and build safer lives.

We work with civil society, governments and international organisations to encourage and support effective policies and practices through advocacy, research and policy development, and through supporting the actions of others.

The post will work directly with the Head of Africa, Country Heads, Programme Staff and the Funding Team, including the Head of Funding, to support in raising funds, managing grants and developing programmes for Saferworld's work in Africa.

This post is based in Uganda or Kenya. Saferworld is looking for someone with experience of developing programmes with country teams/partners in response to funding opportunities, writing/coordinating institutional proposals, such as EU or DfID, keeping track and identifying funding opportunities, and managing grants to ensure contract compliance.

Ideally the candidate will have experience of producing competitive tendering applications.

The successful candidate will have programme development experience and proven track record of developing successful programme proposals and budget development, along with a knowledge of international funding trends and key donor priorities.

They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Thematic knowledge of security and justice, governance, gender or confl ict transformation would be an advantage, as well as experience of competitive tendering.
