Relatives and friends have set aside a total sh150m to buy different types of booze that will be consumed during the grieving period of the once self-proclaimed Rich Ganga president, Ivan Ssemwanga.

Also top on the budget are the local celebrated top musicians who will perform at the vigil at his residence in Muyenga and at the burial grounds in Nakaliro Village, Kayunga district.

The family and well-wishers' meeting at Ssemwanga's residence in Muyenga revealed this.

Joseph Lutalo Bbosa, the chairman planning committee explained that five cows will be slaughtered every day during the mourning period.

"We are going to spend over sh150m on alcohol because many of the deceased's friends and relatives enjoy it. This will not be mourning but celebrating the life of our hero," he explained.

He noted that Ssemwanga was loved by many including musicians who will perform a memorial concert during this period.

"We believe many people will throng both his home in Kampala and also Kayunga for the burial," he said.

According to Herbert Luyinda, Ssemwanga's uncle, all the burial arrangements were on course and Ssemwanga's body will be returned on Sunday evening.

"We are in touch with the South African team and they have booked a Sunday afternoon flight to return the body. We shall have a wake here (Muyenga), a Church service at Namirembe Cathedral and burial is on Tuesday in Kayunga," he said.
