Uganda will now head into their third game against Oman with some relief

ICC World Cricket League Division 3

The Cricket Cranes made amends in the ongoing ICC World Cricket League Division 3 in commanding fashion.

A 66 run victory against Singapore at Entebbe Oval on Wednesday revived Uganda's hopes of finishing among the top two leading to promotion in division two and a chance to play in the 2019 ICC World Cup in Wales and England.

The hosts charged their way to 217 in their 50 allotted overs with contributions from Hamu Kayondo (41), Shahzad Kamal (46) and Arnold Otwani (47).

"We followed a game winning script and possibly we can build on this going forward. It is a win we really needed to keep our goals alive" Kamal said shortly after the game.

Following the loss to Canada in their opening fixture, Uganda was left in quite a desperate position and they have answered the critics in style.

Singapore embarked on the challenge of chasing down 218 under the blistering sun.

Mohammed Irfan kept Singapore's batsmen at bay, claiming a match winning 5 wickets before the Asian side was bowled out for 151.

Chaminda Kumarage led Singapore's reply hitting 40 runs while Arjun Mutreja struck 35.

"A great game for the team and a good response from the defeat to Canada. I feel great winning the man of the match but then a lot more has to be done" said Irfan.

Uganda will now head into their third game of the tournament against Oman at Kyambogo Oval Friday with some relief.

At Lugogo, favourites Canada beat Oman by 83 runs to make it two wins in two.

Bhavindu Adhihetty and Rizwan Cheema weighed in with 44 and 42 runs respectively. Cheema is currently leading the batting charts with 133 runs so far.

At Kyambogo, Ibrahim Khaleel's 49 not out fuelled the United States' 6 wickets win, their first of the tournament, after losing out to Oman in their opening fixture.

Uganda 217/9 Singapore 151 (Uganda win by 66 runs)

Canada 274/9 Oman 191 (Canada win by 83 runs)

Malaysia 117 USA 118/4 (USA win by 6 wickets)
