Police urge safety during Mountains of the Moon rally

The organisers of the Mountains of the Moon rally in Fort Portal have been urged to sensitize the public through the local media and leaders, on the dangers on motorsport before the event on Sunday.

The OC traffic Fort Portal Edson Twebaze made the appeal at the launch of the three day event in Fort Portal.

The event starts with scrutineering on Friday before a super special stage on Saturday at Boma grounds then competitive sections on Sunday.

"Motorsport is a very exciting and entertaining sport but very dangerous and that is why I appeal to you the organisers to make announcements and sensitize people about this event," Twebaze stated.

"The community has livestock and also children too, so sensitisation is required so that we have an accident free rally."

FMU assured of support:

Meanwhile, Fort Portal Municipality Member of Parliament, Alex Ruhunda assured the motorsport government body (FMU) of the commitment of the leadership of Kabarole region to make the Mountains of the Moon rally a success in the region.
