Pepper prices go down in city markets

Green pepper is mainly used for food and salad spicing while the yellow and red peppers are used to make juice.

The price of pepper has reduced according to a survey carried out by the New Vision in some city markets.

Pepper is in three colors, green, red and yellow peppers.

Juliet Nankya Juliet, a vendor in Nakawa Market attributes the increased supply of pepper to the favorbale rainy season.

In Kibuye and Bunga Markets, a kilogram of green papers is at sh5, 000 while 5-6 medium sized green pepers are at sh3, 000.

Along Luwum Street, 5 to 6 green peppers are sold at sh2, 000.

James Ssekamate a vendor at Nakasero Market says  red and yellow peppers (bell peppers), go for  sh5, 000 a kilogram  (wholesale) and for small quantity buyers, 6 to 7 medium sized peppers are sold at sh8, 000.
